Matt bigI must say this is something that I never thought I would be doing – writing an “about page” for my blog.  Maybe the writing an “about page” is not the shock – but rather the fact that I am entering the world of blogging.

If you take a look at my track record you would not consider me part of the “early adopter” group or even the “late adopter” group for that matter.  I have an iPod, but it was given to me and I don’t even use it!!!

I began my career on the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange in San Francisco in the world of options trading.  After returning to school I decided to enter the more passive yet very competitive space of wine sales in the Northern California area.  Working at Wine Warehouse I was involved with a number of vendors and worked very closely developing relationships on both sides of the fence, vendors and buyers.  This experience made me realize the value in a relationship and the process for which to manage them.

With the first blurb on my career out of the way, I have to answer why I am now back in the Boston area.

I was born in Massachusetts, so after spending the better half of 8 years on the west coast I decided to head back to my roots.  I was presented by Peter Gracey with an opportunity to join AG Salesworks, a model of business that I believed in, with an opportunity to develop a set of skills that I dreaded, using the phone, to develop a relationship and uncover fully qualified sales opportunities.  After the organization gained ground, and began to grow I was presented with an opportunity to tie the two pieces of my career together, developing relationships with clients and sharing my experience in sales/teleprospecting with the team that reported to me.  I have been managing a both the client side of relationships at AG Salesworks and the team that I have to support them.

Okay so why am I blogging?

In real simple, straightforward terms, I decided that after 6+ years with AG Salesworks,  working in the world of sales opportunity generation that I had some ideas/thoughts that I would like to share.

So, I am taking a crack at this and sharing my 2 cents!

I hope you find value and enjoy.
